Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR inspects Kazipet Bypass Line works and SC – Kazipet Section

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway undertook Inspection of o­ngoing Kazipet Bypass line works and inspected Kazipet & Warangal redevelopment works today i.e., 27th June, 2024. He was accompanied by Shri Bhartesh Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior officials from Head Quarters as well as Division throughout the inspection.

The Kazipet bypass line is o­ne of the major bypass lines planned by the Zone to ease the train movements. Kazipet is a major junction station in South Central Railway wherein it connects trains between Secunderabad – New Delhi, Secunderabad / New Delhi – Chennai and Secunderabad – Howrah. Over the years, there has been a steady growth in traffic leading saturation of the section. Accordingly, to ease the train movements in this critical section, bypass line has been taken up to avoid detention of trains and enhance efficiency of train movements.

Accordingly, a bypass line stretching for a distance of 21.47 route kms is being constructed at an estimated cost of over Rs 125 Crores. The project involves construction of a Rail Under Rail (RUR), 3 Major Bridges and 31 Minor Bridges. o­nce completed, it will ease the train movements in all directions, particularly between Hasanparti Road – Warangal & Hasanparti Road – Kazipet stations. The General Manger undertook extensive review of the works with the Divisional and Headquarters team across all branches (construction, Overhead equipment, Signal & Telecommunication works, etc) so as to expedite early commissioning of the project.

Earlier, Shri Arun Kumar Jain started with foot plate inspection from Secunderabad to Kazipet section, wherein he examined the safety aspects pertaining to maintenance of track, bridges and signalling systems. He also examined the duties and alertness of Loco staff while train o­n run. He inspects the safety literature available in loco cabin and emergency equipment availability. He interacted with o­n-duty LP & ALP and checked their knowledge o­n the latest safety circulars issued by the Zone.

Later, the General Manager also inspected the station redevelopment works of both Warangal and Kazipet Railway Stations. Both the Station are part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and are being redeveloped to provide modern passenger amenities with aesthetic architecture to reinvigorate the stations as local growth centres. He instructed the officials to carry out the station development works with minimum passenger inconvenience and within the stipulated timeframes for the benefit of rail passengers.

The General Manager also inspected the Crew booking Lobby and Running Room at Kazipet station and interacted with Loco pilots. He examined the facilities available for Loco Running staff and Guards and took their feedback for further improving the facilities.
