General Manager holds Safety Review Meeting
Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held a detailed safety review meeting on train operations across the Zone today i.e., 3rd June, 2024 at SCR Head quarters, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR also participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.
The General Manager reviewed the safety of train operations over the zone. He stressed on ensuring safety and monitoring train operations in view of ensuing monsoon. He instructed that all the staff to be made available at their respective stations in case of heavy rains and winds to attend immediately. He also advised the officials to monitor the punctuality of the trains. He instructed the higher officials to conduct surprise checks on track maintenance and counsel the staff about the safety procedures.
The General Manager advised regular counseling of the staff such as loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and for the staff who are involved in the working of train operations in view of monsoon season and procedures to be followed in case of heavy rains and winds. Officials informed the General Manager on availability of the safety related stock like Smoke detecting devices, Fire Extinguishers etc., over the zone. He instructed the officials to maintain adequate stocks in the depots to meet the unusual exigencies.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain also stressed upon the progress of track renewal works and advised the officials to complete the works at the earliest. He instructed the DRM’s to follow all the safety related precautions to be adopted while attending maintenance works to ensure safe running of the trains.
